The Creative Body Institute is an artist-run nonprofit organization founded upon core values of experimentation, community, and curiosity. We provide progressive interdisciplinary artistic education focused on the body as a site of knowledge. Every body can create. Through practical skill-building and playful exploration, our programs and creative consultation services empower our community to cultivate habits that support a sustained creative practice alongside the demands of daily life. We study time, space, body, sound, environment, and ecology motivated by a vision for liberated interspecies futures. We work against the systematic erasure of insurgent ecological knowledges and approach art-making as an environmentally conscious and sustainable community-driven praxis. Focused on responsiveness, relationality, and radicality, the Creative Body Institute functions as a laboratory of embodied exchange where artists can research their burning political questions and confront today’s most pressing societal issues with ingenuity and care.
